It was reported that Lil Baby was caught in Las Vegas on Monday, August 26, carrying a gun without a permit. At the time, not much was known about his arrest. On Wednesday (Aug. 28), TMZ posted video of the arrest.
As seen in the video, the rapper from “Emotionally Scarred” paid a security guard $20,000 to make a call. He asked someone off-camera, “You got a phone?” and then told them to get closer. Lil Baby went on, “I’ll pay you $20,000 to call this number for me…” Yes, security (the black guy) please call this number for me. I have a license, but they still put me in jail for having a gun.
I told security, “F**k your job.” I’ll give you $200,000 a year. At one point, he said, “I swear to God, safety.” “I’ll give you $200,000 a year.” “This is not where you make $200,000.”
In another place, Lil Baby was begging with the police to let him go because he had to catch a jet. “We came from Los Angeles to celebrate James Harden’s birthday here.” “I have a show tonight,” the artist said.
“Take off my pants.” You guys should look me up. He then said, “You’re all going to die if I get to jail with a gun.” “Make sure I’m okay. There was a gun in my behind… “Let me get in that car, I’m going to kill myself.”
Lawyers Drew Findling and David Chesnoff put out a statement not long after Lil Baby was arrested. As they wrote, “To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia permit to carry a concealed weapon.” We are actively looking into the facts and circumstances of his arrest in Las Vegas on his behalf.
Lil Baby has been on a big run in 2024, even though he hasn’t put out much of his own songs lately. He was on Ye and Ty Dolla Sign’s song “FOREVER ROLLING” earlier this month. In July, he helped BossMan Dlow with “PJ.”
