Lil Wayne’s record-breaking run of Hot 100 hits continues with a new song on Tyler, the Creator’s new album Chromokopia.
Tyler, the Creator’s song “Sticky” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also features GloRilla and Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne has been on the chart every year since 2004.
Now he has been on Billboard’s biggest chart for the longest time, beating out singers like Chris Brown, who has been there for 20 years.
The fact that Lil Wayne is on “Sticky” makes it 187 hit songs for him.
Yesterday, Lil Wayne returned with the Hot Boys on stage at his Lil WeezyAna Fest. His latest success comes just a few days after that. Big Tymers and Hot Boys members Turk, B.G., and Juvenile did solo sets at the rapper’s event. Lil Wayne joined the other members on stage to perform their biggest hits, such as “Neighborhood Superstar,” “I Need A Hot Girl,” and “Bling Bling.”Lil Wayne also gave an emotional speech after the show about why he won’t be singing at the Super Bowl, even though he wanted to because he got his family a private suite to watch the New Orleans Saints play at the big game early in his career.
He said, “At that moment, I told myself, I want to be on stage at the Super Bowl for my mom.” “I worked really hard to get that position, and then it was taken away from me. But this motherfucking moment, they can’t take that.”
To end the event on a good note, LaToya Cantrell, the mayor of New Orleans, gave Lil Wayne a key to the city on stage. Cantrell told her, “We love you.” “This is your city, and what you’ve done, what you’re doing, and what you will do will matter for generations to come.”
Master P also went on stage to say that Lil Wayne days will be held in the city on February 6 and 7. He also said that Wayne would be one of the first people to be honored on New Orleans’ planned Walk of Fame.
