Vybz Kartel is now engaged. He asked his longtime girlfriend Sidem Öztürk to marry him just a few months after getting out of jail.
Vybz Kartel was given a life term in 2014 for killing Clive “Lizard” Williams in 2011, but his conviction was overturned earlier this year after he had been in jail for 13 years.
Talking to Fox 5 New York’s Lisa Evers after he got out of jail, Kartel—who has Graves’ Disease—talked about his plans for after he gets out.
He told her, “You know I’m working on my health right now, but the feeling of being free is just amazing.” “I could be better, but I’m really happy.”
He has already bought a bike and a treadmill to help him stick to his new practice.
He also said, “I’ve hit the ground running.”
The singer of “Summertime” had a lot of health problems while he was in jail.
In June, Evers talked to his lawyer, Isat Buchanan, who told him that Kartel needed medical help the previous year.
He told the long-time New York writer, “Mr. Palmer’s illness is actually life-threatening.” “His neck was swollen. There was no way to close the collar on his neck, which is how bad things are right now. Think of a shirt that’s about 18.5 inches around the neck.”
He went on, “His face is really swollen.” One more thing. He always wears glasses, which makes his eyes stick out in this case.
A lawyer for Kartel said that he was being denied access to clean air because he was locked up alone for up to 23 hours a day.In an Instagram post on Tuesday (November 5), the reggae star showed a video of the moment he got down on one knee and promised to always be by her side.
He wrote with a ring and a heart emoji, “It’s Official #1Wife.” “I asked her to marry me in prison and in real life.” Child, you were there for me when I needed you the most, and I will never leave you. It means a lot to me that you came to see me and told me everything would be okay. I love the times we talked on the phone and in person at the box. It was funny and sad together, and now it’s happy times together!
“I hope we stay together as long as I live because you’re my best friend and my partner.” “I love you, baby. #MyWifeForLife #FamilyFirst #GodIsTheGreatest”
Adidja Azim Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, and the other people charged with the same crime will not have to go through a new hearing, the Court of Appeal in Jamaica said on July 31.
Few people in the Hip Hop world were happier for the singer than Drake, who shared a selfie of himself wearing one of the self-proclaimed King of Dancehall’s shirts. He wrote, “Boss, free up now.”
Nicki Minaj also praised Kartel’s freedom, writing on his Instagram page, “Welcome home.” Busta Rhymes, who has collaborated with the Jamaican superstar on many tracks, added, “WORL BOSS THE WORLD IS YOURS KING!!” “WELCOME HOME!”
