Live events Hot Boys reunite at Lil WeezyAna Fest after 15 years, electrifying fans with classic hits
The highly-anticipated reunion of the Hot Boys finally happened on Saturday (November 2), as
Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk, and B.G. shared the stage at Lil WeezyAna Fest in New Orleans. This marked the rap supergroup’s first performance together in over 15 years, and fans got an unforgettable 22-minute set featuring Hot Boys’ classics like “Get Your Roll On,” “I Need a Hot Girl,” and “Neighborhood Superstar.” Mannie Fresh and Birdman of Big Tymers also joined the group, adding even more nostalgia to the memorable event.
Lil WeezyAna Fest 2024 also included standout solo performances. Juvenile lit up the stage with his iconic hit “Back That Azz Up,” while B.G. got the crowd moving with his solo classic “Bling Bling.” Lil Wayne took a moment during his performance to address being overlooked for the Super Bowl halftime show, sharing his disappointment over the missed opportunity. “I worked my ass off for that position,” he told fans, but added that this reunion was a moment no one could take from him.
The reunion comes after months of teasers and rumors. Lil Wayne hinted at the possibility on X (formerly Twitter) back in September, while Juvenile raised fans’ hopes during Essence Fest, suggesting that a Hot Boys album was in the works. “Hot Boys is back together, man,” Juvenile said during an Instagram Live session in May, sparking anticipation that the group would make a grand comeback at Essence Fest. However, that reunion didn’t materialize as expected, with Wayne opting for a solo set and Turk not appearing.
The group’s last album, Let ‘Em Burn, dropped in 2003. Now, fans are hopeful that this reunion could mean more music from the iconic crew that defined Southern rap in the late ‘90s and early 2000s.
As the Hot Boys took the stage again, they proved that their influence is still alive and that fans’ patience has paid off with an unforgettable night of legendary hip-hop.
