50 Cent cautioned Lil Durk about the company he was keeping prior to the young rapper’s incarceration.
During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club podcast, 50 Cent shared that while collaborating in New York, he took the opportunity to offer Lil Durk some valuable advice. He was introduced to Lil Durk’s Chicago-based collective, Only The Family, but felt a sense of unease about them. “I thought to myself, ‘Is this really them?’ Are they the real deal? He responded with, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ “I told them, ‘Just keep an eye on them.’ His crew,” 50 Cent shared.
Lil Durk’s comment seemingly acknowledged that there could be some issues within the group. 50 Cent noted that Lil Durk appeared to have an epiphany while reflecting on a home invasion from 2021. 50 Cent remarked: “[Lil Durk] stated, ‘You know what? Someone just arrived at my home. How did they find out my exact address? Who possesses my address? No one.Lil Durk, along with five others, has been arrested on charges related to murder for hire and conspiracy to commit murder following the 2022 killing of Saviay’a ‘Lul Pab’ Robinson, cousin of Quando Rondo. This incident is thought to be a retaliation for the murder of King Von. He was arrested in Florida following an indictment filed by prosecutors in Los Angeles, where he will face legal proceedings.
An insider is said to have played a crucial role in his arrest by leaking information regarding the alleged conspiracy to law enforcement. The Mirror has obtained Lil Durk’s indictment, which references witnesses who assert they were aware of details concerning the alleged plan.
The indictment states, “Evidence gathered throughout the investigation, including witness interviews, reveals that BANKS offered a monetary bounty for an individual named T.B., with whom BANKS had a feud.” The document also contains a footnote indicating that the identities of the witnesses are to be kept confidential “due to serious safety concerns,” as investigators assert “that witnesses and/or their family members have already received threats and/or have been contacted in what appear to be attempts to influence their participation in this investigation.”
Although the informant’s identity is still a mystery, there is growing speculation that the incarcerated OTF Jam could be linked to the police’s intervention. Hip hop reporter DJ Akademiks sparked this notion with an Instagram post featuring Jam indulging in McDonald’s while seated in an interrogation room.
