Rick Ross’s Port of Miami 2 was launched yesterday, August 9th. Listeners noticed that Pusha-T’s verse is absent after a few plays of the CD. As part of his press trip, the “Gold Roses” rapper explained the current scenario.
Ross said last month that he secretly collaborated with Pusha-T and Lil Wayne, two longtime enemies, on a track. On his most recent album, he dropped hints that the song would be featured. But in a recent interview with Peter Rosenburg, Ross made it clear that John Legend and Lil Wayne are the sole guests on his “Maybach Music VI” song. Ross made the decision to exclude Pusha’s verse from the recording after exercising his judgment.
“The part that’s sick about it is that both sides were cleared,” Ross starts. “However, as previously mentioned, my main concern was if this would bring them closer together in the long run. That one, I’m going to shoulder. That didn’t seem like the right moment to me. I finished the record. I received the Push verse first, and then the Wayne verse. Whatever the case may be, my goal was to unite them or at least get them talking.
Actor Coming 2 America maintains his peacemaker momentum by holding out hope that Pusha, Drake, Kanye West, and Kanye would all make amends at some point. He dropped the bombshell that next year he’ll be a part of a collaborative album with Drake, Wayne, Kanye West, and Pusha T.
The album is still well-received by listeners, even though Ross made a small adjustment to the “Mayback Music VI” song. Boogie wit da Hoodie, Denzel Curry, Drake, Jeezy, Meek Mill, Nipsey Hussle (the late), and many more make guest appearances on the project. The Port of Miami 2 Tour, which Ross recently announced, will take him to several cities including Vancouver, Miami, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more.
