A lot of new rap songs came out today from Lil Durk, Quavo, and other artists.
Durkio finally released his long-awaited single “Old Days” on Friday, February 23. It is one of several new songs on iHeart’s “Rap Rising” mix. The Grammy-winning rapper talks about the problems he had in his life and work, such as drug abuse and the deaths of loved ones, on a song produced by Smatt and Southside. The official music video shows old clips of Durk and the late King Von. The father of OTF raps into a mic at the top of a cliff with the ocean in the background.
“The autopsy of Von body had me coughin’ up my vomit,” Durk says. “I miss the good old days, the old ways…. I was taking so many pills, I was so high, I really abused it.” When I stopped selling Percs, I started to use them myself. I changed my name from rehab to Doodie’s. It was so fast that I had to get a pacemaker.
Quavo, meanwhile, is back with his brand-new song “Himothy.” The Migos rapper wants everyone to know that he’s “him” on the hot track that Budda Beats made. Quavo calls himself the “Nawfside Shawn Carter (Quay-Z)” in his long verse and says that he is like JAY-Z. He also says that people should stop asking about the late TakeOff because it’s getting old.
