Lil Durk is helping people who have been hurt by Hurricane Milton. Wednesday night (Oct. 9), the Chicago rapper said that his Neighborhood Heroes Foundation would be sending food and drink to Florida to help with the recovery.
“My team and I at the Neighborhood Heroes Foundation want to bring attention to the terrible situation in Florida.” “We want to be ready for everything, and we’re planning to get food and water ready for after the hurricane,” he wrote in an Instagram Story. “May God bless you.” We will keep everyone in our dua.
AP News reports that Hurricane Milton caused several tornadoes and left more than 3.2 million houses and businesses without power. At least four people died in the storm, which made the damage from Hurricane Helene in September even worse. “As the day goes on, we’ll have a better idea of how bad the damage is,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said.
Plant City’s Bill McDaniel said Thursday morning, Oct. 10, “We have flooding in places and to levels that I’ve never seen, and I’ve lived in this community my whole life.” It rained 13.5 inches, and 35 people had to be rescued by emergency teams the night before, according to the city manager.
His hit song “All My Life” gave rise to the Neighborhood Heroes Foundation in 2020. The non-profit group said, “Our mission is to empower and work with everyday heroes who are taking the lead to make a positive difference in the lives of people in under-resourced neighborhoods.”
Durk is set to release his new record, Deep Thoughts, on Oct. 18. There are 17 songs on the album. Fans can look forward to “Late Checkout” with Hunxho, as well as “Turn Up A Notch” and “Monitoring Me,” which were released before the album.
