Lil Baby’s $500,000 Mercedes-Maybach from Virgil Abloh Gets Custom Wheels

The Virgil Abloh Mercedes-Maybach S 680 is one of the most important high-end cars ever made. That’s right, this is one of the last V12 German cars. There were only 150 ever made, making them very rare.

The Maybach by Virgil is thought to be worth between $500,000 and $600,000. Famous artists, producers, and other powerful people often own them. Some of them are DJ Khaled, Alicia Keys (her husband Swizz Beatz gave it to her), and Nigerian singer Davido.

But Lil Baby may be the most well-known person who owns a Maybach S 680. Even though he’s had it for a while, it wasn’t at the recent Rick Ross Car Show with all of his other cool cars. We now know why.

The rapper lives in Atlanta, and his favorite local car customizer just put up these pictures of a Virgil Abloh Maybach with special wheels. Because there aren’t many of these in the world, it seems likely that Lil Baby has designed his $500,000 limited-edition Mercedes.

Road Show International put out these pictures. As we already said, that’s a store in Atlanta, Georgia. The Virgil Abloh Edition has a lot of changes made to it, such as a Maybach logo that lights up on the trunk lid, smoked lights, tinted windows and windshield, and ceramic finish for the paint.

But the most important changes are the new 22-inch “RS Edition” wheels that have been powder-coated “Virgil” and the 20mm lower suspension package.

The Virgil version originally came with wheels that were colored to match the body’s sand paint. These wheels are called “Maybach Exclusive forged.” Some people don’t like the style at all, but we do. It looks very old-fashioned, like the standard monoblock style from the late 1980s.

Was Lil Baby’s work on designing his rare Maybach a mess? Not at all. The factory styles of these multi-spoke alloys are a lot like the ones on the Maybach 6 Cabrio concept. We don’t think these wheels are “RS Edition.” Instead, we think they are either Forgiatos or wheels from the old W222 generation.

The famous collaboration between Virgil and MercedesIn every other way, the Virgil Edition Maybach is still very stunning. Since this is the top-of-the-line S 680 type, it has the 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that makes 621 horsepower. With a time of 3 seconds from 0 to 60 miles per hour, it’s still one of the fastest cars ever made and a luxury standard.

The American designer Virgil Abloh is best known for running his own brand, Off-White, and being the creative head of Louis Vuitton. He sadly died of cancer in 2021, just as this Maybach was getting ready to make its debut.

A lot of people think he’s a genius as a product designer, and Mercedes worked with him on a few projects. The first one was Project Geandewagen, which came out in 2020 and was shaped like a race G-Class. It was wide and low to the ground. The next one was Project Maybach, a huge off-road car with an electric drivetrain. Shades of obsidian black and dry sand were also given to the S 680.
