Despite its ups and downs, Jada Pinkett Smith’s marriage has given her the chance to mature.
For this reason, if her daughter Willow Smith and Will Smith had a relationship similar to theirs, she would be okay with it.
In a recent interview with Danielle Robay for PRETTYSMART, the Girls Trip actress said, “If it’s going to help her become the woman I’m becoming, yes.”
Jada revealed they are in it for the long run, even though she and Will separated in 2016.
“Will and I have attempted to distance ourselves from one another, but it hasn’t succeeded,” she remarked, restating remarks made in the previous year.
Jada expressed gratitude for having the Oscar winner as her life partner even though she acknowledged their relationship will never be the “fairy tale” she had longed for. “To know that I have someone by my side that, no matter what, is dedicated to learning how to love and learning how to love me, and vice versa, I don’t know what else you could ask for.”
Additionally, the Red Table Talk host was all praise for Willow’s musical career.
“She was simply captivated by her mother’s performance. And she simply adored it,” Jada remarked of the 23-year-old. “And then to just see her, I mean, she just took it to the next level.”
And Jada, who also happens to share a 25-year-old son named Jaden with Will, is extremely pleased with the career route Willow has chosen.
She said, “Your children, who traveled with you in a particular manner, then take that journey and just fly with it. I think she’s just an amazing artist.”
