Rapper Gunna Seen Working Out at Patriots’ Gillette Stadium Facilities to Improve Physical

The hip-hop artist joined Patriots players for a workout session in Foxborough, lifting weights and catching passes.

The Bill Belichick era in Foxborough has ended, and the new chapter under first-year coach Jerod Mayo appears to be bringing a bit more fun to the team. Nearly five months after the legendary head coach’s departure, the Patriots are experiencing some changes in their routines.

Famous rapper Gunna visited Gillette Stadium and participated in a workout session with the Patriots on Saturday, as shown on his Instagram story. The 30-year-old artist was seen in the weight room, lifting weights and catching passes from a football passing machine on a backfield.

Gunna fit right in, donning a Patriots workout shirt and shorts, matching the players’ attire. The weight room session even featured some of Gunna’s tracks playing in the background. As some would sаy, his drip was too hard.

Despite the Patriots’ weight room being ranked last in the league and receiving an “F” grade on the latest team report card, Gunna seemed to enjoy the facilities. The NFL Players Association had noted the poor quality of the equipment and the room’s small size as reasons for the low grade.

Although Gunna was hitting the weights, don’t expect him to join the NFL roster anytime soon. It’s not easy for a rapper in his thirties to secure a spot on an NFL team. So, a trio of rookie wide receivers—Javon Baker, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Gunna—is not in the cards.

After catching a few passes, someone at the throwing machine joked with Coach Mayo, asking, “Where’s our 10-day contract, Mayo?”

Gunna’s visit adds to the growing list of hip-hop artists associated with the New England football team. Rapper Meek Mill has been friends with Patriots owner Robert Kraft since 2018 when Kraft visited Mill in prison. Since then, they have spent time together publicly and participated in philanthropic efforts.

The Patriots are clearly embracing a new era, blending sports and entertainment in ways that keep the team dynamic and exciting.
