Rock icon Sting from the 1980s announces a very unusual musical collaborations with Snoop Dogg

One of the UK’s most popular singers from the 1980s and later has said that she has already made a surprise song with US rap star Snoop Dogg.

Sting shared the news of their team-up at BBC Radio 2’s “In The Park” event on Saturday. In 1977, he became the lead singer of the new wave band The Police before starting a big solo career in 1985.

The number one artist on the charts was the main act at Preston’s Moor Park. He sang some of his biggest hits from over the years, such as “Fields of Gold,” “Englishman in New York,” and “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic.”

He talked to the radio station before his show that night and said that he and Snoop Dogg, 52, were working on a new version of the song. He started his set with “Message in a Bottle.”

The 72-year-old said this about Snoop’s remix of The Police’s hit song: “Me and Snoop made a recording of Message In A Bottle, which he’s called something else.” The remix is set to come out in November.

“I played the guitar and sang on it, but Snoop also sings on this, which is pretty cool for me,” he said, adding that he thought the US star was “a very nice man.”Snoop is known for songs like “Who Am I? (What’s My Name)” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” He has also worked with Pharrell Williams on “Beautiful” and Katy Perry on “California Gurls.” among others.

The Young, Wild, and Free rapper recently worked as a special US reporter for NBC during the Paris 2024 Olympics. That’s just in the music world. He has also acted, worked in WWE wrestling, hosted a game show, released a wine under his own name, and written a cookbook. This was after he appeared on Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party with renowned chef and longtime friend Martha Stewart.

For the multitalented artist whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., redoing The Police’s 1979 hit song “All My Love” will have been just another day at the office. At the start of his job with The Police on Saturday, Sting also said he had “a feeling” he would have a “long career.”

He said that his career goal had always been to make “a standard” and that he wanted to get to the point where “people just keep performing your songs forever.” This new collaboration definitely meets those goals.

“Somehow we had the confidence that we would, but I don’t know where that came from,” Sting said when asked about his long-lasting success as a musician.

“It wasn’t based on any research or logic.” That was just how I felt.He also said, “You know, my goal is always to write a song that could become a standard.”

Standards were written in the 1940s and 1950s, so as current songwriters, we try to get to the point where people will play our songs over and over again, like “My Way.”

“Isn’t that a great tune?” That makes me want to write songs like that.

The rock star, whose real name was Gordon Sumner, said he never “got bored” touring because he liked playing his hit songs from the last few decades.

The singer from Wallsend said, “I really enjoy playing hits, but you know, it’s my job to sing a song I might have written 40 years ago with the same passion, curiosity, and energy as if I wrote it this afternoon. That’s my job.”
