At the BET Hip-Hop Awards, DJ Khaled gave Lil Wayne the “I Am Hip-Hop” trophy by hand

Lil Wayne approached the stage with his mother Jacida Carter and daughter Reginae Carter. Bun B from UGK helped Weezy deliver a fantastic welcome speech. The trophy was then given to Weezy by Bun and DJ Khaled. Lil Wayne then gave a moving acceptance speech.

Lil Wayne thanked everyone who had supported him over the past few years, which have been difficult for the rap legend. These folks consist of admirers, relatives, and friends. Wayne also thanked a man he named Uncle Bob, who he said prevented him from committing suiciԀe years earlier.

“I must give this honor to those who turned it down. That [refers to] the people who have supported me during all of the—you are aware of already. The people who didn’t believe that me since I hadn’t put out an album in five or six years. You all encouraged me and were respectful of me. You were at every show. You valued each and every feature and record. my family. My family never stopped being an inspiration to me. I have to stop behaving like I’m not the man. Like I was someone else but my dad. as if I was someone else completely. They wouldn’t let me feel any differently. Please give the item to my family.

Wayne turned to face his life-saver, Uncle Bob. Tunechi related the story of how he attempted suiciԀe at the age of twelve, but Uncle Bob prevented him from killing himself.

“When I sаy,’refuse,’ there’s a man in New Orleans, his nаme is Uncle Bob,” Weezy begins an intriguing tale. He went inside an apartment one day. He stormed through the door with his gu𝚗s drawn, but to no avail. He saw legs on the floor. It was my legs that did it. He observed blооd everywhere. The cops were all on me. He refused to oblige. He and I recently spoke, and I was unaware that EMS was present. He stated that EMS was informed “there’s nothing” following two attempts. He was determined not to let that pass.

Weezy continues, He called out to someone, “Come drive this car, someone.” Disregard the ambulance. I was driven to the hospital by him himself. He would not wait and kicked open the doors. “You need to do whatever it takes to ensure this child survives,” he yelled. Moreover, Uncle Bob worked as a hоmicide investigator that day. He was oblivious to the facts. He heard the call and came over. Not only did he not consent to my being taken to the doctor and left, but he also declined to stay and made sure I lived.
