Lil Wayne’s appearance on the “All the Smoke” podcast was briefly interrupted by a heartfelt bedtime call from his son, Kameron, who was at home with his mom, Lauren London.

 

 

The rapper, 40, exemplified his commitment to fatherhood as he paused the interview to take the call. “I’m so sorry, one second,” he said to the hosts as he answered. “That’s Killa, that’s Kam, he’s going to sleep.”

 

 

“Daddy duty don’t ever stop,” podcast host Matt Barnes agreed. Wayne, ever the devoted dad, told Kameron, “Goodnight boy, I love you,” before inquiring about Kameron’s younger brother, Kross.

 

Kameron confirmed that Kross, 6, was already asleep. “They got a picture of his daddy on the wall looking just like him,” Wayne shared, referring to the late Nipsey Hussle, Kross’s father. “Love you, I’ll take a picture and send it to you to show him.”

During the interview, Lil Wayne reflected on the importance of fatherhood, especially given his own experience growing up without a dad. He is the proud father of four children: Kameron, 13, with Lauren London; Neal, 13, with singer Nivea; Dwayne Carter III, 14, with Sarah Vivan; and Reginae Carter, 24, with ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Johnson.

“It’s important. That’s life,” Wayne emphasized about spending time with his kids. “How you need food to live. I didn’t have one of those, I didn’t have a father, so it’s not easy to do something you didn’t have done for you and try to figure it out.”

Wayne continued, “When you’re in a position like myself, you don’t ask. I figured it out, and I’m at the age now where it’s not a challenge anymore. It was a challenge before. Their love cancels all the challenges out.”

His dedication to his children is clear, showing that no matter how busy his schedule, his role as a father comes first.
