Lil Durk is dedicated to ending gu𝚗 viоlence in his hometown of Chicago, urging both “the streets” and local politicians to join him in this mission.

During a clip from his upcoming appearance on the Big Facts Podcast, released on Friday (May 31), the Chicago rapper shared his thoughts when co-host Big Bank asked him what he would do to “clean the streets of Chicago up” and use his music to “kιll all the beefs.”

“That’s the number one goal, to stop it,” Durk stated. “The priority for us in the streets and politically is to stop the viоlence and slow it down as much as possible. It starts with everybody just coming together.”

However, Durk acknowledged the complexity of this challenge. “It’s hard because you might have someone thinking they’re in charge, but their young people don’t even respect them,” he explained. “So, even if they sаy, ‘Come on. Let’s come together,’ they might be dismissed.”

Earlier this year, Lil Durk announced plans for a concert in Chicago, dubbed ‘Smurkchella,’ aimed at combating viоlence in the city. On his Instagram Story on Wednesday (April 10), he called on artists to join him in organizing the event, which he plans to host at the Bears’ stadium.

“I’m going to do a Smurkchella next year at the Bears stadium in Chicago,” he wrote. “It’s going to be a stop the viоlence event, and we’ll split half the money with different non-profits, from big to small. I need help from every artist who’s locked in with me to help save these kids.”

Durk tagged his non-profit organization, adding: “@neighborhoodheroesfoundation will help put it together. This is my way of giving back without just saying it to look cool.”

Lil Durk’s Continued Efforts to Give Back

Lil Durk launched the Neighborhood Heroes non-profit organization in 2020 and has consistently contributed to his community since then. In 2022, they partnered with the non-profit Chicago Votes to provide inmates and correctional facility workers at the Illinois Department of Correction with 29,000 bottles of hand sanitizer. This initiative was in response to the prison system’s lack of access to clean water amid the CоVID-19 оutbreak.

Lil Durk’s ongoing commitment to reducing viоlence and supporting his community showcases his dedication to making a positive impact in Chicago.
