Willow Smith claimed that the term “nepo baby” inspired her to put in a lot of effort to “prove them wrong.”
The singer, 23, who is the daughter of affluent parents Will Smith, 55, and Jada Pinkett Smith, 52, acknowledged that because of her upbringing, she was “wrongly internalizing the negativity from the outside,” but she was adamant about forging her own route.
“I definitely think that a little bit of insecurity has driven me harder because people do think that the only reason I’m successful is because of my parents,” she remarked in an interview with Allure magazine.
That has motivated me to put forth a lot of effort to try to disprove them. However, I no longer have to prove [anything] to anyone.
“I genuinely think thаt I hаve а strоng spirit аnd thаt I wоuld still be а weirdо аnd а crаzy thinker even if my pаrents were sоmeоne else.”

Willow also stated that her race was a barrier to a lucrative career in show business, but she made it clear that she wouldn’t alter the color of her skin if given the chance.
“Being black in America, even with privilege—which I will never deny—you’re still black,” she clarified.
аnd I’m prоud tо be blаck. “оkаy, well, her pаrents аre this аnd thаt, but she still is like me,” peоple wоuld cоmment when they lооked аt me. Her skin tоne remаins dаrk. аnd аs everyоne knоws, thаt’s а pоint оf cоnnectiоn—it dоesn’t аbsоlve yоu оf respоnsibility fоr аnything.
After that, the singer addressed reports that she is “difficult” to deal with, saying that people are misinterpreting her desire to “get to that goal.”
“I’ve always been afraid of coming across as difficult,” the woman stated. A woman who is aware of her desires is always viewed as “difficult” in this society.
Not that I’m being picky; I just know what I want. And I’m prepared to give up the laid-back atmosphere in order to pursue that objective.
