‘Prepare a lot of money now’: Lil Durk Partners with NXTG3NZ for Phygital Footwear Line

Web3 technology is making significant strides in the fashion industry, with giants like Nike and adidas leading the charge. Now, independent label NXTG3NZ has entered the space, creating “Phygital” footwear that blends physical and digital experiences. In collaboration with rapper Lil Durk, NXTG3NZ is launching a new line of footwear that merges these two worlds.

 

The Lil Durk x NXTG3NZ collection features the Lil Durk 7220 silhouette, which will eventually be available in physical form. Each pair will come equipped with an NFC chip embedded in the tongue, enabling wearers to connect to a digital experience through their smartphones. This digital experience includes exclusive content from Lil Durk, access to limited-edition merchandise, and virtual events.

 

Each NFT in this collection boasts a unique design, though it remаins unclear if each physical pair will be a 1:1 copy of its digital counterpart. The shoes feature a chunky dad-shoe design, with NXTG3NZ branding on the midfoot and a prominent “X” on the lateral heel, reminiscent of StockX’s typeface. In addition to the NFC chip, the sneakers will be crafted from superior Italian leather and AAA suede, taking approximately three months to produce. Digital previews reveаl vibrant colorways, including green-based, red, and creamy-shaded versions.

For those interested, a detailed roadmap is provided. NFTs in the “7220” Collection can currently be purchased, with the reveаl occurring one week after the mint, which began on April 11th, 2023. In Q2, NXTG3NZ will gather shipping, billing, and sizing information for your sneakers. Additionally, a video game is in development, allowing you to wear your gear within the game. Notably, NFT holders may have the opportunity and priority to claim a physical pair of NXTG3NZ ‘7220’ sneakers within six months of the launch date (April 11, 2023).

The Lil Durk x NXTG3NZ 7220 Collection is available now on the NXTG3NZ website. Each NFT is priced at $520 for the first 5,000 purchases. After this tier is sold out, the price will increase to $720 per NFT.
