Who is in Lil Durk’s top five?
As he prepares for his new album, Lil Durk weighs in on the contentious issue.
During an interview for XXL’s Spring 2023 cover, the Chicago rapper revealed which rappers he regards to be the GOATs.
Lil Baby, Future, and Drake, his “Laugh Now Cry Later” collaborator, are among those on his list. He also exhibited affection for his OTF brothers, Chief Wuk and the late King Von.
He discussed the rationale for selecting his top five. “They got the culture going crazy, just turning up in they own way,” according to Durk. “And everyone I named has their own type of style. Everybody doesn’t sound alike.”
Durk is currently preparing to prove his grandeur with his upcoming album The Voice 2.0, which will mark his progress.
“Growth. That’s what the 2.0 represents: being on another level,” he added of the sequel to 2020’s The Voice. “Just not only in terms of music, but also in terms of my surroundings, as I already stated, growing from my friends and management. Seated with the mayor. We are involved in significant charitable activities. Neighborhood Heroes is the foundation I have.”
Dr. Luke will produce “All My Life,” a collaboration with J. Cole, on the album. “We were just trying to figure out like what’s the right person to put on it,” Durk told me. “I believe Cole can provide the intensity I’m searching for to the song’s second stanza, even if the proper individual isn’t available. So, if it wasn’t J. Cole, it’d be Kanye, but he’s tucked away somewhere.”
