Will Smith’s daughter talks about why she shaved her head at the age of 11, is it because of her mother Jada Pinkett Smith’s style?

Willow Smith first went bald at the age of 11. Since then, she has been associated with a edgy style.

In an interview with Glamour, the two-time Grammy nominee Willow Smith spoke about her decision to shave her head in 2012 – two years after releasing her debut single WҺip My Hair.

Speaking about shaving her head 10 years ago, when she was just 11, Willow Smith said: “I like seeing the shine on my scalp, the light reflecting off it. Shaving my head is probably the most daring beauty thing I’ve ever done.”

In a conversation with Glamour, Will Smith’s daughter explained that black wоmen have a lot of issues with their skin and hair. “I just feel like I like to do it, I want to be free to do things, not think about it too much. Sometimes it’s radical,” she said.

Willow Smith insists that she has complete respect for other hоt black girls. But when she looks at people like her, Willow feels like she fits in with the community.

In July 2021, Willow Smith made headlines when she shaved her head on stage during a pop-punk performance of her single WҺip My Hair.

“This is the third time in my life I shaved my head. I do it on special occasions, when something is changing. This time is no different,” Will Smith’s daughter said backstage.

In March 2020, Willow shaved her head and spent 24 hours in a glass box, displaying artwork at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, USA.

Willow Smith is the strong-willed daughter of the Smith family. She recently spoke out in defense of her father after the incident of the actor slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars was brought up again.

“My family is all human. We humans sometimes act in a negаtive way. It’s human nature to make mistakes. I love and accept all of their personalities. Maybe this is my weakness,” Willow said.
