After Latto’s new record, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, came out, Joe Budden’s latest take caused a stir among Hip-Hop fans. The podcaster says that the “Georgia Peach’s” well-reviewed body of work is enough to make him think that she is a better rapper than Doja Cat.

“Latto is sick,” Budden said at the start of his own show. “She might have to be number two for me.” Nicole is my favorite. Latto might make Doja’s night rough. “She can’t rap like that.”

“If I’m only talking about rapping, Doja can leave if Latto comes in with her notebook,” he said. Since there are reports that Cardi wrote something, I’ll leave that alone. Latto has said that is indeed her pen. Like those girls, she really loves hip-hop.

Doja and Latto haven’t said what they think about Budden’s point of view, but a lot of their fans did right away, which started a discussion on social media. A lot of fans agreed with Budden, especially after hearing Latto’s newest LP.One fan of both women wrote, “Let’s be fr, Freestyle & Bar for Bar, Latto is taking it over Doja and that’s not even low-balling Doja because she’s good too.” Another fan wrote, “Strictly bars? That being said, I think she is better. There’s no doubt that Doja writes and plays great songs. I love her, but I think Latto’s lyrics are better.

A huge majority of people, though, seemed to think that Doja is the better MC. They were referring to her 2023 album Scarlet, which showed the pop star accepting her inner lyricist.
