Usher gave up the first mansion he bought at the age of 13 so his family could live a more luxurious life worthy of his current salary

Usher, the 39-year-old rapper, has successfully sold the $1.5 million mansion that marked the beginning of his career. According to Realtor.com, the sale concluded with a price $1.1 million below his initial asking amount for the house located in Alpharetta, Georgia.

In a 2003 edition of How I’m Living, the U Remind Me singer revealed that owning this particular house had always been a dream of his, and he eventually realized this dream seven years later. Usher, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, recounted on the BET program that his first encounter with the property was when it belonged to music producer L.A. Reid. At that time, Usher expressed his aspiration to one day own a house similar to the one he eventually acquired.

The mansion, covering over 8000 square feet, boasts seven bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms. The property also features a private dance studio, a yoga studio, and a climate-controlled treehouse, as reported by The Blast. In a 2003 interview, Usher described the master bedroom as “really elegant, yet very warm, yet very sexy.”

Notably, the musician’s $4.2 million Los Angeles house was targeted by burglars in late March, resulting in the theft of cash and jewels valued at $820,000. Despite the presence of security cameras on the estate, the thieves managed to steal the tapes from inside the cameras, complicating efforts to identify them. The Los Angeles property, spanning 4,261 square feet and equipped with a swimming pool, five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms, is situated on a hill above the Sunset Strip.

Following Usher and his wife Grace Miguel’s separation announcement in March, the Los Angeles house was listed for sale.
