DJ Premier Announces Lil Wayne and Rick Ross Will Team Up in Battle Against Drake

The A-list can still be unleashed by DJ Premier. The renowned producer has announced that Friday, July 26 will see the release of his new single. Featuring contributions from Big Sean, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne, the song is named “Ya Don’t Stop.” Already, the beat of the DJ scratch chorus is almost audible. Although the song features a superb lineup of artists, the feature that garnered the most attention was unrelated to the music. The entire year 2024 was devoted to Rozay’s criticism of one Aubrey Drake Graham. However, few have remained loyal to the 6 God’s cause as Lil Wayne. Do you not see a conflict of interest here?

It goes without saying that Wayne and Rick Ross collaborate on projects outside of Drake. Nearly twenty years have passed since the two rappers first worked together. However, Drake has been instrumental in bringing their most popular songs together. Drake bars and, on occasion, Drizzy hooks support “I’m on One,” “No New Friends,” and “Pop That.” Ross has dropped a diss single and made multiple jokes about the Toronto rapper on social media, making it quite apparent that he does not want anything to do with him. Throughout the summer, Ross could not stop playing “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar. But Lil Wayne tried to rewrite “Not Like Us” lyrics and got booed for it.

Since DJ Premier is a well-respected figure, Ross and Wayne will likely put their disagreements aside to work with him. Interestingly, Drake is the only one of the group to have a DJ Premier production on their album. Preemo was a collaborator with the Toronto rapper on 2018’s “Sandra’s Rose.” To be fair, Ross and Lil Wayne have both been through comparable difficult situations. Birdman, founder of Cash Money, was someone with whom both men had problems, and they vented their anger publicly. April also saw the dramatic “Splash Brothers” episode.

French Montana was going to drop the Drake, Ross, and Wayne posse cut “Splash Brothers” soon. French subsequently edited Drake out of the finished product right before submission. There has been no evidence to support the claim that Drake was responsible for the modification, yet rumors persisted. It appears that despite their previous disagreement, Ross and Wayne have managed to keep their friendship intact. We can’t wait to hear them performed over DJ Premier’s music, particularly with Big Sean on board. If Ross uses subliminal messages, we will be sure to listen for them.
