Lil Wayne claims he is the “G.O.A.T.” on his new song with Cordae, “Saturday Mornings”

On a fresh song with Cordae titled “Saturday Mornings,” Lil Wayne has once more announced himself to be the best rapper of all time.

Published on Wednesday, July 24, the Smoko Ono and BoogzDaBeast-produced song has a chopped soul sample and dusty beats, ideal background for the two lyricists trading braggadocious bars.Weezy raps: “You standing on business, I’m a businessman / I’m the G.O.A.T., n-gga, you a sacrificial lamb.”

“Lord knows it’s crazy how I can just text Hov / And run plays on the weekend, it’s more than just XOs,” Cordae says, dropping some high-level boasts about his close friendship with fellow G.O.A.T. rival JAY-Z.

“New year, same goals, stay out the way and make cash / The competition, damned, we wave past / I need more real love and less fake laughs,” the Maryland rapper also notes in outlining his aspirations for 2024.

Originally hinted to on Instagram earlier this week, “Saturday Mornings” marks the first song from Cordae’s next album.

Soundtracked by an old soul album, he uploaded a video of himself engaged in chess in a parking lot. Carrying his small kid in a booster seat and chatting to her as if he were in a record label conference, it also caught the 26-year-old in MC in dad mode.

Not only is Lil Wayne among the rap icons claiming the G.O.A.T. moniker lately.

Earlier this month, Eminem sharpened his conviction that he is the Rap God on his single “Tobey,” which came before his most recent album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
