Lil Durk awards students $100 each after a performance on Drake & J. Cole’s tour

After a group of schoolchildren performed for him while he was on tour with Drake and J. Cole, Lil Durk gave them each $100.

 

 

For his Grammy-winning song “All My Life,” which was performed at the PPG Paints Arena this past weekend, the Chicago rapper enlisted the help of twelve Pittsburgh-area public school students.

 

Dr. Kimberley Price, Pittsburgh Public Schools’ Coordinator of Performing Arts, discussed the creation of the show with CBS.

 

Twenty pupils from various age groups were brought in by the two schools. from the sixth and fifth grades of high school. Dr. Price stated, “Teachers sacrificed their weekends to be with the children.

 

“To have a team that came together in the same way—from our teachers giving up half a day on a Saturday to our communications department—means that people care about our kids’ success, and it shows.”

 

Durk’s conduct with the youngsters was also commended by Price, who said, “He was so gracious with the kids.” I wish it had been visible to you. He was giving fist bumps and high fives to children. When the images first came out, he moved to the side to give the kids the attention they deserved.

“Our children were sobbing with excitement. Witnessing the children flourish and receive such wonderful care from an artist was an experience I will never forget. They also won’t forget it.

 

 

She further disclosed that following the performance, the rapper gave each of the kids a $100 gift.

As Drake and J. Cole’s opener on the It’s All a Blur — Big as the What? Tour, Lil Durk was just added. He will play with the duo through April.

 

Known by his stage nаme “Neighborhood Hero,” Durk has already garnered recognition for having a conversation on ways to better children’s lives in the neighborhood with Brandon Johnson, the mayor of Chicago.

 

 

In order to assist students in attending college, he also established a scholarship fund last year with Amazon Music. The first two recipients of the fund were given scholarships to Howard University.

 

In addition, Durk gave $250,000 to Howard University’s GRACE Grant, an initiative designed to provide underprivileged students with tuition assistance.v
