Once again, Morgan Wallen and Lil Durk joined forces for “Almost Healed.”Almost Healed, Lil Durk’s most recent album, has just dropped. The 21-song project was much anticipated and featured a wide range of artists, from rising stars like Rob49 to former Billboard chart toppers like Juice WRLD and J. Cole. Durk also secured a record deal with country music sensation Morgan Wallen, joining the ranks of Alicia Keys, 21 Savage, and Kodak Black. They were already set to star in “Broadway Girls” in 2021, but it’s clear that their friendship has grown stronger since then.
As a team, they plunge headfirst into trap country. “Stand By Me” is a catchy anthem that the two artists have collaborated on with Dr. Luke, who was also responsible for producing “All My Life.” The song is aimed towards TikTok and Billboard success. Durk delves deeply into issues of trust and heartbreak, while Wallen delivers a monster hook. The collaboration between the two musicians makes “Stand By Me” sound like it could be a summer smash on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify. But the two artists went fishing to celebrate the release of the collaboration.Morgan Wallen and Lil Durk took to Instagram to share a few moments from their recent fishing adventure. But it appears Durk has no plans to return to the seas anytime soon. “Also, there’s no way to change the fact that family is family. “I’ve had enough of fish,” he wrote. Wallen, meanwhile, acknowledged Durk’s abilities. He posted alongside the rapper and wrote, “Durk done pulled up and taught me how to fish” in one photo. He also promoted their recent collaboration in another selfie he took with a catch.
It is too soon to tell if “Broadway Girls” will be a top-charting single, but next week Lil Durk should have a very successful Billboard chart. It is anticipated that the rapper will sell 150,000 units during his debut week. Unfortunately, those numbers won’t put him in first place. Midnight (Til Dawn Edition), Taylor Swift’s new single, has put Lil Durk in position to debut at number two on the Billboard 200. Regardless, it’s still an impressive feat, and who knows, maybe when a deluxe version drops he’ll be at the top of the charts.
