On Saturday night, rapper Lil Durk added a proposal to his show repertoire!
On stage in his hometown of Chicago, the 29-year-old rapper proposed to longtime girlfriend India Royale. Their most recent single, “Broadway Girls,” features Morgan Wallen.
During his 2018 performance at the United Center for the 107.5 WGCI Big Jam, Durk (real name Durk Banks) serenaded his soon-to-be fiancΓ©e with his song “India Pt. II” when she joined him onstage.
While the influencer and model turned their backs, Durk knelt down and extended a ring box.
He told her, “You know I love you to death. You’ve been holding me down, you know what I’m saying, when I was going through a lot,” to his delight as the crowd roared. “You have been true to me, and my love for you knows no bounds… Would you like to be my spouse?
India was given the microphone by the rapper so she could say yes. The couple then hugged sweetly as the stage was packed with cheers and dancers.
“I said ‘Yes.’ #issafiancΓ©,” India posted to Instagram while celebrating her engagement.Afterwards, she captioned a carousel of images depicting the couple and their children with the hashtag “The Banksπ€.”
Durk also posted a number of images, one of which showed him cradling his engaged fiancΓ©e as she flaunted her engagement ring.
“THE BANKS πβ¦. It’s bout the family fr” he said.
The jeweler who built the rapper’s ring, Izzy Luxury, gave an up-close look at the stunning diamond, which he described as a 10-carat oval with 30-pointer emerald cuts, placed in a handcrafted setting with pave stones all around.
“I want to congratulate my brother @lildurk on taking the biggest step in his life w @indiaroyale for their next chapter,” said he. “I’m honored to be part of this huge occasion.”
The couple has been together since at least 2017, when Durk tweeted that they had broken up “for 2min and 21sec” and then gotten back together. They have a daughter together, Willow, who is three years old.
