Among the finest diss songs of the past few years has to be “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar. But Ice Cube, like many older Hip Hop fans, has their favorites in the all-time argument.
Today (May 28), concert footage of the AmeriKKKa’s Most Wаnted creator revealed that he released a better album. Despite what the audience would think, he insisted that the song was actually by Tupac Shakur and not by him. “No, Wait a second, Cube; that’s Nas with ‘Ether.’” Nas is great, but it’s not. Perhaps Kendrick Lamar is the one now. Perhaps it’s him. Even though I enjoy those tracks, “No Vaseline” is without a doubt the greatest diss track in Hip Hop history.
“One emcee, myself, I took out four motherf**kers and the manager,” Cube said thereafter, explaining why the 1991 release is better than the previously stated songs. That is unrivaled. That was more than 30 years ago. So, right now, I can’t sаy anything bad about N.W.A.
“No Vaseline” was included on Cube’s Deаth Certificate as a reaction to what N.W.A. said were insults on “Message To B.A.” and “Real N**gaz.” The BIG3 founder famously quit the West Coast organization because of money problems, which he blamed on Jerry Heller.
“You tiny maggot, you half-pint b**ch, f**king your homeboys; Eazy-E turned f**got with your manager, dude. “If MC Ren, Dr. Dre, and Yella were as intelligent as I am, Eazy-E would be dangling from a tree,” the resident of South Central spat out.
There were a few of lines in Lamar’s “Not Like Us” that tarnished his competitor just as much. The rapper from Compton made headlines when he infamously claimed that Drake was a pedоphile and brought up the trafficking case of Baka Not Nice, who was signed to OVO Sound. The cover art for the single also included the Toronto mansion of the “Hotline Bling” singer, along with multiple red markings that looked like those on applications that help people find sexuаl predators.
