Snoop Dogg’s specialty is making music, not racing. Nevertheless, the renowned rapper still managed to put on a spectacular performance during Monday’s US Olympic sporting trials in Eugene, Oregon.
Snoop Dogg, dressed in an American flag tracksuit and a Team USA shirt honoring the late Kobe Bryant, ran a 200-meter exhibition race against Wallace Spearmon, a two-time NCAA outdoor 200-meter champion, and Ato Boldon, a former Olympic medalist from Trinidad.
While Snoop’s disappointing third-place finish in the exhibition race at Hayward Field was hardly unexpecteԀ, his timing of 34.44 seconds was still quite acceptable.
“For a 52-year-old, $34.44” After the race, he proclaimed, “Ain’t bad,” and then he posed with his time.
Snoop, an entrepreneur, actor, and special correspondent for NBC’s primetime Olympics coverage, will be joining Olympics host Mike Tirico in Paris. Before the games, the rapper shared his unique perspective on the trials with TV viewers.”What we’re about to see right now is they’re about to get to dipping, gripping, riding, slipping and hopefully not sliding,” Snoop said during NBC’s coverage of the me𝚗’s 3000m steeplechase, who was present at the track.
Snoop was taken aback at first by the steeplechase since it involves runners jumping off the top of the hurdles.
“Oh my god, he’s jumping on top of the hurdle,” Snoop exclaimed with naiveté. “Are you saying you’re capable of that?” There you have it—a cold trιck. That one works for me. Descended from the very peak.
According to NBC’s X account, Snoop’s remark was deemed “ELECTRIC” and “the content we never knew we needed.”
Notable US athletes like Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles have already punched their tickets to the Games this summer, yet the trials have only just begun.
We had a great weekend… Much admiration for all of those elite athletes… “See yall in Paris,” Snoop wrote on his X account.
