There is a direct line between hip-hop and basketball. Some basketball players can dribble or even make their own beаt, and many rappers can dribble as well. When it comes to rappers who can dominate a game, LeBron James puts Lil Durk in the elite category.
The Los Angeles Laker All-Star credited Durkio in the most recent episode of his HBO series The Shop when asked about a rapper he thinks has basketball skills.”Lil Durk can hoop,” whispered LeBron. “Dude, he’s got hoop skills. Oh my, he’s a lifelong hooper. And he also has a cannоn. He appears to be a muthafucka with the ability to [ball]. He has a peel.
Among the guests on the episode were Rick Ross, Steve Stoute, and Gunna, who said, “I played him one time… he can play” in reference to Durk’s abilities.
Posting the video to Instagram with the comment, “I don’t want to hear sҺit nomo from anybody lol let’s go @kingjames,” Lil Durk took notice of the compliments he received on the show.
Other rappers who received praise from LeBron James were 2 Chainz, J. Cole, and Quavo. But the four-time NBA champion was equally captivated by another young rapper besides Durk.
“Honestly, this guy played ball, though, so it’s not fair,” LeBron remarked. Sheck Wes was a genuine ball player, but; J. Cole was cool. Truly, he is a hooper.Having heard one of the best basketball players ever speak so highly of Lil Durk’s abilities, he must be feeling pretty good right now. Durk built on that momentum over the weekend by announcing the release of a deluxe edition of his most recent album, 7220, which he believes will land him at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 once again.
Durk said, “I’mа drop and go #1 again matter fact watch this… Deluxe” beside a video of himself slam a basketball inside a CoolKicks footwear store in Los Angeles.
Guest performances from Future, Morgan Wallen, Summer Walker, and Gunna were part of the March 11th, 7220 release. With first-week sales of more than 120,500 album-equivalent units, the record soared to the top of the Billboard 200.
“PisseԀ Me Off,” “Broadway Girls,” “AHHH HA,” a diss track by NBA YoungBoy, and “Computer Murderers” are the album’s lead singles. Last month, the album was reviewed by HipHopDX, who awarded it a rating of 3.3 out of 5.
