Kendrick Lamar Excludes Snoop Dogg from First Performance at Kia Forum Post-Drake Feud
Fans have noticed that Kendrick Lamar did not invite Snoop Dogg to his first performance at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, since his well-publicized feud with Drake. The concert, titled “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends,” was a celebration of Juneteenth and featured a star-studded lineup including Remble, AzChike, Zoe Osama, Jason Martin, and Chris Brown. However, Snoop Dogg’s absence was conspicuous.
Speculation among fans suggests that Snoop Dogg was not invited because he remained neutral during the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud. Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their opinions, with some approving of Snoop’s exclusion and others questioning the decision.
“Kendrick leaving Snoop out after he played both sides. Let that be a lesson,” one user commented. Another added, “I’m so glad he did Snoop like that.” Others echoed similar sentiments, accusing Snoop of being a “fence rider.”
Snoop Dogg’s neutrality was evident in a May 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, where he chose not to take sides in the Drake-Kendrick feud. “The only thing I want to sаy about that whole scenario is that I want to give both of them a shout-out for raising the bar as far as lyricism,” he said, praising both rappers for elevating the standards of songwriting in hip-hop. He referred to them as his “nephews” and emphasized his desire to stay out of their personal business.
Snoop’s stance came after Drake used an AI-generated version of his voice in the diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle,” which also featured AI-generated vocals from Tupac Shakur. This track was quickly removed after Tupac’s estate threatened legal action.
The feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake reignited after J. Cole’s March 2024 track “First Person Shooter,” which referred to himself, Drake, and Lamar as the “Big Three.” This led to a series of diss tracks from both sides, including Drake’s “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” and Kendrick’s responses with “6.16 in LA” and “Euphoria.” The feud escalated with Drake’s “Family Matters,” accusing Lamar of domestic viоlence, and Lamar’s retaliatory tracks “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us,” which accused Drake of fathering an anonymous child.
Although the feud has cooled, neither rapper has officially commented on its resolution.
In the midst of this, Kendrick Lamar’s decision to exclude Snoop Dogg from his Juneteenth concert has stirred further debate among fans and highlights the ongoing tensions within the hip-hop community.
