Ice Cube Believes Rappers’ Political Opinions Won’t Influence the Upcoming Presidential ElectionIce Cube has made it clear that he doesn’t think rappers’ political endorsements will sway voters in the upcoming presidential election. Although the rapper hasn’t publicly backed either Dоnald Trump or Joe BiԀen, he emphasized that voting is a deeply personal choice.

During a May 13 appearance on Fox Business’s Mornings with Maria, Ice Cube discussed politics alongside his Big3 league, announcing a $10 million sale of his first basketball franchise to DCB Sports. When asked by journalist Maria Bartiromo if the African-American community might shift due to rappers’ political endorsements, Cube responded:

“You know, people gonna make a decision on who they want to be president. I think it’s a personal decision. I don’t know if they care on any rappers or entertainers get up there and sаy anything. It’s really a personal decision. People know who Trump is. People know who BiԀen is. They gon’ make their decision no matter who gets up there and pushes whatever decision they on. The country knows both of these guys very well. I just think it’s gonna come down to a personal decision.”

The presidential election, set for November 5, will see Dоnald Trump as the Republican candidate and Joe BiԀen as the Democratic candidate. Trump’s previous term in office sparked significant debate within the hip-hop community, particularly due to his stances on issues like Black Lives Matter and stop-and-frisk policies. While some rappers, such as Ye, Kodak Black, Sexyy Red, Chief Keef, Bandman Kevo, Waka Flocka Flame, and Azealia Banks, have shown support for Trump, others remain critical.

Ice Cube himself faced scrutiny in 2020 after meeting with the Trump administration to discuss the Platinum Plan, aimed at benefiting the Black community. He clarified that his intent was to pressure political leaders, regardless of who was president, to implement policies that would benefit Black Americans.

Ultimately, Ice Cube believes that voters will make up their own minds, irrespective of celebrity endorsements. He underscored that both Trump and BiԀen are well-known figures, and the decision will be based on personal convictions rather than the influence of entertainers.
