Lil Baby has responded to remarks made by Young TҺug’s father, Jeffrey Williams Sr., regarding an alleged diss aimed at Gunna. In a now-deleted comment on an Instagram post discussing Williams Sr.’s criticism, Lil Baby simply wrote “IYKYK” (meaning “if you know, you know”). This indirect response triggered various reactions from followers, with some calling for further clarification and others defending Lil Baby’s approach.
Earlier this week, Williams Sr. expressed frustration with Lil Baby’s lyrics in the song “350,” which were perceived as criticism of Gunna following his involvement in the ongoing YSL RICO trial. Williams Sr. voiced his concerns during an interview with legal affairs journalist Infamous Sylvia, stating that Lil Baby should refrain from speaking on matters he doesn’t fully understand.
Gunna’s plea deal and subsequent release from jail have sparked controversy within the hip-hop community. Some artists, like Lil Durk and Boosie Badazz, openly criticized Gunna, accusing him of being a snitch. In a conversation with DJ Akademiks, Lil Durk expressed disdain for individuals who don’t maintain silence in legal matters, emphasizing the consequences of cooperation. Meanwhile, Boosie highlighted the leniency of Gunna’s charge.
In contrast, Williams Sr. has previously shown support for Gunna, stating that Gunna has not done anything to harm their case. Despite the controversy, Gunna has consistently denied accusations of snitching on Young TҺug or other co-defendants, reaffirming his intention to stay out of the trial process.
