Rick Ross attended the 5000 Role Models’ Dr. MLK Jr. Scholarship Breakfast on Monday as one of the esteemed guests, although his heart was heavy following the tragic killing of Big Jook.

Before the event, Rozay delivered a powerful speech in Memphis, urging his followers to refrain from wearing ski masks, also known as “Pooh Shiesty’s” in street parlance, and to steer clear of gu𝚗 viоlence.

It’s evident that Ross is advocating for positive change in the city. Memphis faced a staggering number of homicides last year, and the recent loss of Big Jook, who was not only Yo Gotti’s brother but also a prominent executive at CMG Records, cast a shadow over the beginning of 2024.

His untimely deаth occurred after he was fatally shot in the 901 area while leaving a funeral procession.

Despite the somber circumstances, Ross arrived at the event with a smile, warmly greeted by supporters and dignitaries alike. During the ceremony, he was honored with The Key to the City of Miami by Mayor Francis Suarez and Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, who garnered attention with her eye-catching attire resembling a crimson cowgirl.
