Dr. Dre injects some playful banter into Instagram after meeting music legend Stevie Wonder, revealing Wonder’s signature greeting.

The photo, shared by the Good Doctor, shows himself and the iconic musician, accompanied by the caption:

“Just bumped into my hero and every musician’s favorite, Stevie Wonder… Stevie said ‘It’s good seeing you.’”

The internet response was overwhelmingly positive. Flavor Flav, 2 Chainz, Busta Rhymes, N.O.R.E. – all joined in with laughing emojis and playful remarks. It seems Stevie has a recognizable greeting, even if it’s not entirely accurate!

This isn’t the first encounter between Dre and Stevie. While a collaboration between these two giants would be monumental, Dre actually passed on the opportunity to work with Wonder. They initially connected over a sample clearance for a Marsha Ambrosius track. Stevie, being the perfectionist he is, wasn’t initially satisfied with the lyrics, so Dre made adjustments.

After the revisions, Stevie proposed they write a song together! Dre, as he revealed during an interview with Kevin Hart, “didn’t show up.” Can you imagine a collaboration between Dre and Stevie Wonder?

Dre confesses he was starstruck and unsure of his role in the studio with a legend like Stevie. It’s a missed opportunity, but also a hilarious anecdote. Perhaps one day, Dre will gather the courage to collaborate with Stevie Wonder. Until then, fans will have to content themselves with Dre’s classic beats and Stevie’s timeless vocals – both extraordinary in their own right.
