Legendary rap artist Ice Cube is bringing his electrifying performance back to Edmonton on April 30, much to the delight of local fans. Following the success of his Straight Into Canada Tour, Ice Cube has added a second show at The Venue at the River Cree Resort and Casino, accompanied by special guests DJ Kav and rapper Peter Jackson, due to overwhelming demand.
Born O’Shea Jackson, Ice Cube is a multi-award-winning musician, actor, director, producer, civil rights leader, and CEO and co-founder of the BIG3 professional 3-on-3 basketball league. With over 10 million records sold in his illustrious career, Ice Cube remаins a dominant force in the rap game.
In a virtual appearance on CTV Morning Live, Ice Cube discussed his generational influence and the ongoing success of his tour. “We did our first leg earlier this year and sold out shows. And we expect the same thing,” said Ice Cube. “We’re going from Victoria all the way to London and Quebec City. So we’re everywhere in between, and we’re gonna have fun with it.”
Having entertained audiences for nearly 40 years, Ice Cube takes pride in his diverse fan base and the evolution of his career. “I get a lot of fans who discover me from a movie and then discover my music. Then I have my day-one fans who already know the movies but they know the music because ‘I grew up with it’ and they’ve seen me evolve in the movies,” he explained. “A lot of fans from all different walks of life, and I love it. That’s where artists want to be.”
In a light-hearted moment, CTV Morning Live jokingly invited Ice Cube to join them for some 3-on-3 basketball during his visit to Edmonton, to which Ice Cube responded, “You never know, if I got a little time.”
Tickets for the show are available for purchаse on the River Cree Casino website.
