Lil Baby assisted in organizing a Birthday celebration for George Floyd’s daughter and extended a heartwarming gesture to George Floyd in the wake of a difficult year for her
The Atlanta rapper joined forces with restaurant owners Ericka and William Platt, along with NBA star Stephen Jackson, to organize a birthday celebration for 7-year-old Gianna, Floyd’s daughter. The event, themed around LOL Surprise Dolls, took place at the Pink Hotel in Lil Baby’s hometown.
Ericka and William had close ties with the Floyd family, while Jackson has been actively involved in social justice movements. Jackson expressed his commitment to supporting Gianna, stating, “I think I adopted another child, God put me into this position. I’m going to do the best that I can.”
Lil Baby generously funded the party, which was attended by his own children, Jackson’s children, and the children of Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old who was tragically killed by police in June.
Reflecting on the event, Gianna’s mother, Roxie Washingtоn, expressed gratitude for the support during such a challenging time. She remarked, “This is a very difficult time for my daughter, so we’re very grateful that our extended family is creating such a special experience for Gianna on her first birthday without her father.”
The deаth of George Floyd reignited the Black Lives Matter movement following the actions of Officer Derek Chauvin, who kneeled on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes. Through their collective efforts, Lil Baby, along with Ericka, William, and Jackson, sought to provide a moment of joy and support for Gianna during a trying period in her life.
