Lil Wayne rates Missy Elliott as the greatest rapper ever and he is always grateful to her!
Missy Elliott is the greatest rapper ever, according to Lil Wayne, and she will always be “grateful.”
He told presenter Nick Wright, “She’s a huge influence of everything I’ve ever done.”
Lil Wayne is showcasing Missy Elliott’s extraordinary musical legacy.
While making an appearance as a guest on Fox Sports’ What’s Wright?, I was asked to rank the top five rappers. Lil Wayne made sure to highlight Elliott on Thursday, May 5, on the Nick Wright podcast.
He said, “Missy Elliott, it’s always going to be first for me.” “She has had a significant impact on everything I have done.”
After mentioning UGK, Jay-Z, the Notorious B.I.G., Goodie Mob, and others, the presenter pointed out that Tunechi had left himself off the list. In response, the five-time Grammy winner said, “I can’t touch them guys.” Never would I include myself on my list.
Elliott sent a touching tweet on Thursday in response to Wayne’s remark. “Whenever @LilTunechi says my nаme in his interviews, twitter don’t have enough space for me to sаy my GRATEFULNESS because he is a LEGEND himself who birthed many emcees after him & as a man to acknowledge me as a big influence 4 him I send you love WAYNE,” Elliott wrote, retweeting a clip from the segment.
“I’ve seen many times @LilTunechi has said my nаme over & over for years no matter who the interviewers are he has never been hesitant to sаy me as a female & for that I am forever GRATEFUL,” the woman said in a second tweet. “This warms my heart even more,” she wrote.
Wayne has already acknowledged Elliott as an influence. In 2o2o, Tunechi revealed, “Missy Elliott, that was my favorite rapper because that would be why I was making so many sounds,” during a conversation with fellow hitmaker DJ Khaled on the first episode of The First One podcast. Missy was really into the whole “Brrrrt” [sound], you know. Do you understand what I meаn? She’s going to let out the “hehehehe ha” sound.
“My favorite song is ‘Block Burner,’ because Missy Elliott is my favorite artist.”
