NBA YoungBoy Unveils Title and Cover Art for Upcoming Album
NBA YoungBoy has wasted no time in following up on his recent project, as he announces details for his forthcoming album.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the Baton Rouge rapper shared that his new album will be titled “I Just Got a Lot on My Shoulders.”
Accompanying the announcement was a glimpse of the album’s cover art, featuring YoungBoy standing against a vibrant red backdrop, sporting a matching red jacket, hat, white jeans, and red-and-white Jordan 1 sneakers.
In a simple caption posted on Sunday (March 17), he wrote, “I just got a lot on my shoulders [top hat emoji] ?/?/24.”
NBA YoungBoy’s previous project, “Compliments of Grave Digger Mountain,” was released earlier this month, serving as a compilation for his Never Broke Again label. The album showcased a lineup including himself, Quando Rondo, BBG Baby Joe, Lil Dump, Herm, Dej RoseGold, Vontina, Ddawg, WhoGangDee, and Meechy Baby.
Throughout 2023, YoungBoy dropped several projects, such as “I Rest My Case,” “Don’t Try This at Home,” “Richest Opp,” and “Decided 2,” all released under Motown after fulfilling his contract with Atlantic Records in 2022.
In a revealing interview with Complex last year, NBA YoungBoy reflected on his experiences in the music industry, describing it as “demonic.”
“I learned it’s a demonic industry that I chose to be a part of,” he expressed. “So it’s like, I accept it. I run with it. But don’t be a Ԁummy at the same time. You gotta understand, they’re using me as entertainment and this sҺit becomes self-destruction too. ‘Cause I ain’t an entertainer.”
Regarding his ongoing legal issues, NBA YoungBoy is currently under house arrest until his federal gu𝚗 case trial, slated to begin in July. Despite the restrictions, he was granted permission in December to leave his residence for medical appointments.
A court filing specified, “The defendant is restricted to 24-hour a day lock-down at his residence except for medical appointments and court appearances or other activities specifically approved in advance by the defendant’s pretrial supervision officer.”
