DJ Khaled recalls his first meeting with Lil Wayne while working at odyssey records in New Orleans: ‘He was such a talented rapper’

In an interview to promote his God Did album, DJ Khaled recently spoke on the “Drink Champs” podcast with N.O.R.E., aka Noreaga, and DJ EFN (listen below).

The customary Drink Champs question, “Lil Wayne or Drake?,” was posed to Khaled around 44:50 in their talk. The record executive named them both his brothers and loved them both so much that he was unable to choose just one. He went on to sаy that the history Wayne and he have already created is “unbelievable.”

At 1:15:50 into their conversation, Khaled related how he first got in touch with Tunechi and Birdman while working at the Odyssey Records shop in New Orleans. He also emphasized how fast the CDs from the Cash Money Records artists would sell out. The DJ said that he was also there when Baby signed Weezy to CMR!
