Lil Wayne ‘didn’t know who XXXTentacion was’ before his feature on ‘Tha Carter V’

In an insightful new interview, Lil Wayne has shed light on a variety of topics pertaining to his upcoming album, Tha Carter V.
The American rapper said that until he heard the late rapper’s feature on his song “Don’t Cry,” he “didn’t know who XXXTentacion was” in an interview with journalist Elliott Wilson for the “CRWN” interview series earlier this week.
Wayne said that fellow rapper Mack Maine came up with the idea for XXXTentacion to be on the album, and that he didn’t realize his true identity until the song was almost finished.
Wayne’s eleventh studio album, Tha Carter V, was last Friday (September 28) officially released after being in legal limbo since 2015.
Wayne discussed a variety of subjects, including the reason Drake’s presence on the album was dropped.
