The Chicago rapper enlisted 12 public school children from Pittsburgh to join him in performing his Grammy-winning track “All My Life” at the PPG Paints Arena over the weekend. Dr. Kimberley Price, Coordinator of Performing Arts for Pittsburgh Public Schools, shared insights with CBS regarding the collaborative effort.

Dr. Price commended the dedication of teachers who sacrificed their weekends to support the students, emphasizing the collective effort to ensure the success of the performance.

Reflecting on Lil Durk’s interaction with the children, Dr. Price described his kindness and genuine engagement, highlighting moments of high-fives and fist bumps. She expressed gratitude for his generosity and consideration in allowing the children to shine in the spotlight.

Notably, Lil Durk extended his support further by gifting each participating child $100 after the performance.

Lil Durk, known as the “Neighborhood Hero,” has previously earned praise for his advocacy efforts, including discussions with Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson on improving children’s lives in the city. Furthermore, he launched a scholarship fund in partnership with Amazon Music to support students’ college education, with the first two recipients receiving scholarships for Howard University. Additionally, Lil Durk contributed $250,000 to Howard University’s GRACE Grant program, designed to assist students in need of tuition support.
