Lil Durk, the talented rapper behind “All My Life,” has regrettably canceled a series of tour dates, including his slated appearance at Rolling Loud Miami on Friday, citing health concerns.
As of Tuesday, 24 performances from Lil Durk’s Sorry for the Drought Tour have been officially marked as canceled on Ticketmaster. The only remaining shows include two performances in the rapper’s hometown of Chicago. A solo show is scheduled at the United Center on Aug. 11, followed by an appearance at the WGCI Summer Jam on Aug. 12 at the same venue.
Although Lil Durk has not publicly shared a message regarding the cancellations, DJ Akademiks posted a statement from the rapper on his Instagram page.
“Since I’m still awaiting full clearance from my doctors to travel and perform again, I have no other choice but to cancel my headlining Rolling Loud performance,” reads the statement. “While I’m home resting, I am looking forward to my two homecoming shows on the 11th & 12th in Chicago. For the rest of the country, I’ll be announcing new dates soon. #StillHealing.”
The rapper, whose real name is Durk Derrick Banks, recently faced hospitalization in Ohio due to severe dehydration and exhaustion. A close source informed TMZ Hip Hop on July 13 that Lil Durk was admitted to the hospital on July 6, with doctors emphasizing the severity of his condition. Consequently, he had to cancel European performances and a planned appearance at the ESPYs Awards.
Lil Durk expressed gratitude to his fans in a statement to TMZ Hip Hop, saying, “My fans mean everything to me, you’re the reason why I do this.” He explained that his exhaustion and dehydration were a result of continuous performing and traveling. He assured fans that once he regains full energy, he will return to business as usual.
This health setback comes after Lil Durk’s hospitalization following his Lollapalooza 2022 performance, where he faced injuries due to onstage pyrotechnics. Despite the challenges, the rapper remains appreciative of his fans and recently celebrated the RIAA Platinum certification of his hit song “All My Life.”
Lil Durk conveyed his appreciation on Instagram, writing, “Thank you. I send my love out to all my fans for keeping me motivated and hungry and not lazy and comfortable.
