Lil Wayne called Jay Z a true friend for always supporting him artistically and financially

Despite facing challenging years, Lil Wayne found solace in the unwavering support of two extraordinary friends, Swizz Beatz and Jay-Z.

On the closing night of his “I Ain’t [expletive] Without You” tour in Chicago, Lil Wayne, also known as Tunechi, expressed his gratitude for the artistic and financial backing he received from these two influential figures.

Addressing the crowd from the stage, Wayne opened up about Jay-Z’s pivotal role in his life during tough times. “There are those such as Jay-Z. He was there for me when I needed him most. Really, really, really down,” Wayne revealed, emphasizing Jay-Z’s discreet assistance with his taxes. “You guys, he’s a true friend,” Wayne declared, keeping Jay-Z’s support a secret.

In addition to Jay-Z, Wayne extended his appreciation to producer Swizz Beatz, a collaborator on his hit song “Uproar,” for consistently offering him opportunities to showcase his craft.

“There’s people like Swizz Beatz that’s gonna send me every beat he makes and want me to rap on every single one until I got my situation straight,” Wayne acknowledged.

Wayne’s journey, marked by a tumultuous relationship with Birdman and Cash Money Records, led to significant delays in the release of his highly anticipated studio album, “Tha Carter V,” which finally saw the light of day in September.
