SZA and 21 Sаvаge have emerged as top contenders in the upcoming 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, earning an impressive eight nominations each. The nominations span various categories such as Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and more, solidifying their status among the leading artists of the year.

Scheduled to take place on April 1 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre and broadcasted on Fox, the 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will honor the standout artists and songs of 2023. The event is set to introduce new categories, adding an element of anticipation to the celebration.

The pop music scene, as reflected in the nominations, showcases female dominance, with Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, and Taylor Swift competing for the coveted Pop Artist of the Year title. In contrast, the Hip Hop Artist of the Year category is exclusively male, featuring nominees 21 Sаvаge, Drake, Future, Gunna, and Lil Durk.

Other notable nominees include Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, Doechii, PinkPantheress, Ice Spice, Gunna, and GloRilla. Fan engagement will play a crucial role in determining winners, as votes will decide awards for best lyrics, music video, fan army, social star, tour photographer, TikTоk bop, on-screen favorite, tour style, and debut album. Voting begins on January 18 and concludes on March 25.

John Sykes, president of entertainment enterprises for iHeartMedia, expressed, “The iHeartRadio Music Awards is a night where we celebrate the biggest artists and songs fans loved listening to on the radio all year long.” He added, “We’ll also share stories from the artists themselves about their hard-fought journeys to the top of the charts.”

Tom Poleman, president and chief programming officer for the company, highlighted the awards’ special nature, stating, “Our iHeartRadio Music Awards are special because they’re truly reflective of what listeners love.” He expressed excitement about sharing the journey of how the nominated songs became hits and celebrating these outstanding artists with music fans nationwide, broadcasting live from Los Angeles.

It is worth noting that SZA, who received R&B Artist of the Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards, is once again in the spotlight. Her track “I Hate U” from the chart-topping SOS album secured the title of R&B Song of the Year in the previous edition of the awards.
