Travis Scott took off his new unreleased Nike shoes and gave them to a fan at the Utopia Show in Chicago

During a concert in Chicago on Wednesday night, the rapper surprised an audience member with a pair of his yet-to-be-released Nike Sharkidons in an exclusive colorway, as reported by Hypebeast on Thursday.

The fortunate recipient had the opportunity to rap alongside Scott on “Lost Forever” without missing a beat, earning a special reward.

After handing over the sneakers, Scott advised the fan, “They’re my favorite pair of shoes, so don’t sell them.”

A photo shared by an official Scott fan page on X showcased a closer look at the shoes: a combination of light and dark brown hues with contrasting off-white Nike Swooshes. The straps and rope laces echoed the same color scheme, featuring materials like suede and corduroy.

Last year, Scott had previously unveiled the Sharkidons in the “Mocha” colorway on Instagram, which incorporated mesh, leather, cream accents, and laces.

While the release date for these kicks remains uncertain, Hypebeast anticipates a drop for both patterns sometime this year.

This collaboration isn’t Scott’s first venture with Nike for personalized sneakers. In 2019, he collaborated with the athletic apparel giant on Air Jordan 1 High OG TS shoes, which sold out within a morning, reported Bloomberg.

Despite the initial $175 price tag, these kicks quickly soared to as much as $1,000 on the resale market. Additionally, Scott introduced his inaugural original sneaker with Jumpman and Nike, the “Cut the Check” shoe, just last year.

Scott’s commitment and admiration for sneaker culture have earned him acclaim over the years. Yu-Ming Wu, then the CMO of Stadium Goods, praised Scott’s influence in GQ in 2020, stating, “He often brings back older, hyped sneakers which helps educate new heads and remind the old heads. His love and respect for the industry is a big part of his sneaker cult following.”

The Sharkidons continue to contribute to this legacy, and the fortunate fan at Scott’s Chicago show has the privilege of showcasing them before the wider public.
