He Ain’t Getting No Money’: Rick Ross Calls 50 Cent Broke as He Drags Meek Mill Into His Longstanding Beef with New York Rapper
Rick Ross and Meek Mill visited Complex’s “360 with Speedy” to discuss their new collaboration, “Too Good to Be True.”
The “Shaq & Kobe” rappers discussed some of their notorious feuds throughout the conversation, but Ross doesn’t see an end in sight to his ongoing conflict with longtime rival 50 Cent.
At one point, Speedy questioned Ross over a passage from his 2017 song “Apple of My Eye.” About Mill’s ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj, he raps in the song, “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki, instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance.”
“I was referring to Meek and Drake’s differences at the time,” Ross remarked, “and that was a real line.”
Mill was a part of one of the largest rap feuds of the 2010s during that time. When Mill claimed that the Canadian rapper had a ghostwriter in 2015, three diss tracks followed, and some of Mill’s family members showed up to confront Drake at his Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, show.
After “Apple of My Eye” was released a year later, they put an end to their feud and went on stage together to sing their joint song, “Going Bad.” “Can we see something like that for you and 50 [Cent], or is that too far gone?” Speedy questioned Ross, referring to how the two former enemies are now in a better place.
