Lil Wayne dropped out of performing alongside 50 Cent after a member of his staff pushed him backstage
On Wednesday, 50 Cent gave a forgettable performance in Los Angeles. According to accounts, the rapper not only seemed to hit a concertgoer with a microphone he tossed, but he also missed an exceptional guest performance. Page Six reports that Lil Wayne was scheduled to accompany 50 on stage at the Crypto.com Arena, but the “Lollipop” singer disagreed with 50’s team and had to cancel at the last minute. Insiders told Page Six that as Wayne was getting set to take the stage, one of the backstage tour crew members appeared to “push” him aside.
Page Six claims that Wayne was dissatisfied with the exchange and left without performing. “He just stormed out,” Page Six reported that an insider had informed it. “He was in the building for about 20 minutes total.”
The representatives of 50 Cent or Lil Wayne did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Despite Lil Wayne’s absence, several celebrities, including Chris Brown, YG, and Nas, joined 50 on stage. That being said, the show made news for a microphone-related incident. Social media users shared videos of 50 throwing what looked to be a broken microphone onto a crowd off to the side of the stage.
