Snoop Dogg shed tears when sharing about his mother, “‘Mama thank u for having me’

Snoop Dogg is expressing his heartfelt condolences for the passing of his mother, Beverly Tate, who sadly died this weekend.

In commemorating the loss of the family matriarch on Sunday, the 50-year-old rap icon took to Instagram to share a series of posts dedicated to Tate, underscoring the profound impact she had on his life.

In one post, accompanying a photo of Tate, he wrote, “Mama thank u for having me 🙏🏾🌹,” and in another, he expressed, “Til. We. Meet. Again🙏🏾🌹 #TWMA.” Additionally, he conveyed his gratitude to God for blessing him with an “angel 🕊 for a mother 💖🙏🏽🌹💝 TWMA,” alongside an image of Tate holding a bouquet of flowers.

Later, Snoop shared a poignant video of himself sitting in a dimly lit room, immersed in music. Another post featured him DJing an event at Madison Square Garden, dedicating the classic song “Stand By Me” to his late mother.

The tributes continued on Monday afternoon with another photo of Snoop and Tate, set to the backdrop of his 1999 track “I Love My Momma.”

Snoop has not disclosed the cause of Tate’s passing, and his representatives have yet to respond to inquiries from The Times as of Monday.

In May, the “BMF” star had requested prayers for Tate on social media without revealing specific details about her condition. A month later, he shared about visiting her in the hospital along with his two brothers. By July, he disclosed that his mother was still battling illness.

On Sunday, Snoop’s father, Vernell Varnado, announced Tate’s passing on Instagram, urging fans to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers.

Snoop Dogg has frequently spoken fondly about his family, highlighting the faith instilled in him by his mother and grandmother during his upbringing in Long Beach. Growing up, he sang and played the piano in the city’s storefront churches. In 2018, he released the gospel album “Bible of Love,” drawing inspiration from his religious upbringing.

Among those extending condolences is the record producer behind “Bible of Love,” BattleCat. He shared a group photo of Snoop, his mother, and their team, expressing that Tate “blessed” them when she approved the album.
