Daz Dillinger Confronts Dr. Dre Over Unpaid ‘The Chronic’ Royalties

West Coast rap legend Daz Dillinger has shed light on an issue that has been in the shadows for far too long. Recently, Dillinger took to Instagram to celebrate the 31st anniversary of Dr. Dre’s iconic album, ‘The Chronic’.

However, this celebration came with a public claim against Dre for unpaid royalties.

Does Daz Dillinger Deserve Anything for ‘The Chronic’?
Dillinger, whose talent significantly contributed to creating various songs on the album, including “Bitches Ain’t Shit” and ‘Deeez Nuuuts,’ among several others, maintains that he is owed a percentage of the royalties for his work on the album.

According to his claim, the rapper has given Dre a four-year deadline to address the issue. Beyond this time frame, the rights will revert to Dillinger, and he will not authorize any use of his work.

This confrontational act by Dillinger is not an isolated event in the rap world: ‘The Chronic’ has been a subject of dispute before. RBX, another artist who contributed to the album, has also previously spoken about this same royalty issue. However, in his case, he claims to have moved on without further ado.

The problem of unpaid royalties is a story as old as the music industry itself. However, when such an iconic and bestselling album like ‘The Chronic’ is at the center of controversy, the issue takes on an entirely new dimension.

The lingering question is: will this issue be resolved within the four-year deadline provided by Daz Dillinger, and will he receive his share for ‘The Chronic’? Or will it require the intervention of a higher authority, perhaps a court, to ensure that artists get what they deserve for their work? Only time will tell.
