Is there a Friday sequel coming to Netflix for Straight Outta Rehab?

Ice Cube and Chris Tucker on FridayBRAND- NEW LINE CINEMA

Oh no! Although there have been years of development on Last Friday, there are rumors that a follow-up called Straight Outta Rehab will be available on Netflix. Is it taking place?

In 1995, the Friday franchise saw the release of its first installment. It centers on the slackers of Ice Cube and Chris Tucker on a Friday afternoon who, you guessed it, are high from smoking marijuana that wasn’t theirs and unemployed. They will be put to deаth that evening at 10 p.m. if they don’t pay back their debt.

Under the direction of F. Gary Gray, the film received a great deal of positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, earning over $27 million in revenue globally. It also turned into a launching pad for the series, which produced two more films between 2000 and 2002 and an animated series that ran for a little while in 2007.

Since the late 2010s, a fourth entry, Last Friday, has been mired in development Һell. Is it true, though, that some people think there will be a second sequel to Netflix called Straight Outta Rehab?

Is Netflix going to release Straight Outta Rehab?

No, neither Friday the 13th nor Straight Outta Rehab will be available on Netflix anytime soon.

Harold Rico Knight posted a concept poster for a new Friday movie on Facebook, and it received thousands of comments in addition to over 16,000 shares. More regrettably, it stated that the movie would be making its Netflix debut this past Friday, December 8. We regret to inform you that it isn’t available on the streaming service because it doesn’t exist.

That is not to sаy there won’t be a follow-up. When Last Friday was originally approved in 2017, Ice Cube stated that production would begin by the end of the following year. The actor stated in 2019 that the screenplay was finished and that he planned to release the film in 2020 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original.

After Tommy Lister Jr., who portrayed the beloved character Deebo, passed away, Felicia actress Angela Means thought the project would never get done. Ice Cube disclosed in 2021 that he had written two screenplays: one with a love story and the other centering on Craig and Day-Day in jail.

Ice Cube claimed in October of last year that Warner Bros. had turned down his film pitch submissions. Chris Tucker gets along well with his co-star, but it’s not clear if he would return to the film if it ever gets made.
